MY APPROACH TO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

I see myself first and foremost as a Documentary Wedding Photographer. This means my job is to tell the story of the day using a series of connected photographs all composed in an artistic way so that each photograph stands up on it's own as well as part of a group. I pride myself on being a relaxed and natural photographer who is able to put people at ease and blend into the bustle of the day. As well as the Documentary approach I also include plenty of Fine Art Portraiture of individuals, groups and, of course, yourselves as a newly married couple.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When choosing a photographer for your big day there are a myriad of questions couples need to ask. To give you as much information as possible on my website i’ve answered a few more commonly asked ones below.

How do we book you?  Can we meet for a consultation before booking you?

Just get in contact using the Contact page here or by email on clivenolanphotography@gmail.com  or by phone on 07915 238 793……… If you are based in the Tywyn/Dolgellau/Machynlleth area I am more than happy to meet up for a coffee and discuss your requirements.

Do you do engagement shoots?

I love engagement shoots. I find them  an excellent way to get to know each other, hear your ideas for the big day and get a feel for what you both are like in front of the camera and for you to see what i’m like behind one. I’m a very relaxed, hands off photographer and use little, if any, direction and its good for you to see how I work. I’m happy to do one off shoots or to add them to your coverage package.

How far are you able to travel and are there travel expenses on top of the fee?

I’m happy to go anywhere! I’ve photographed weddings in London, Dorset, Norfolk and even as far afield as Italy. For long distance weddings and destination weddings abroad do get in touch and we can work out the specific costs.

Do you have insurance and back up equipment?

I am fully insured as a professional photographer with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity cover.  With regards to back up equipment I wouldn’t photograph a wedding without it. I use two cameras during the day, and have another as back-up, with a variety of lenses  as well as a large number of memory cards.

Do you work with a second shooter or is it just yourself?

I work by myself unless it is absolutely necessary. With the couple before hand I plan as each wedding in as much detail as possible and often have a specific style or approach in mind. In these situations I find that I work better alone and can give a more personal and intimate service. If the wedding is an extremely large one, or you have specific circumstances which require two photographers, then I have a number of professional colleagues I can rely on to assist me. If this is something you think you might require then do please contact me and we can discuss specifics.

How many photographs will we get?

This can vary depending on the situations of the wedding but generally this can be anywhere from 350 to 600 photos from a Full Day coverage .

Do you design and provide wedding albums and art books and can we order prints through you?

I am not currently designing and providing albums or prints but I can recommend a numebr of high end suppliers if required.

How long after our wedding will we get our photographs?

I will endevour to get your photographs to you on a  USB between 4 to 8 weeks after your big day, frequently sooner.
